Capture Screen to AVI and Animated GIF

 

This program is released as FREEWARE without any warranty or license.   Fell free to use it for your purposes.   This is a screen capture utility which works like Snagit, Camtasia and Macromedia.   The major difference is that mine is free and it works for me. This is also Open Source.

System requirements:

Windows 2000 and XP tested only [it may be backwards compatible to win98 but you will need the VB6.0 Runtimes]
Hard disk space
Patience
Happiness

Here's how it works:

First, click the Select Rectangle (Green) button and the cursor changes to a Cross.  Left Click anywhere you'd like, drag the box selection and release.   The screen area selected is now being captured.   Click Stop (Red) when you've got enough.   Make AVI saves the file: MyAVI.avi in the application directory.  Make Gif saves the file test.gif in the application directory as well.   Exit, exits.

You may set the transparent color and adjust the quality of the GIF:
